Sentences August 07 - 15, 2012

Timothy Wallace, 49, of Casper, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Clarence A. Brimmer on August 15, 2012, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute at least 500 grams but less than 2 kilograms of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine. Wallace was arrested in Casper. He received 120 months of imprisonment, to be followed by four years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Rocky Benson, 33, of Rapid City, South Dakota, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on July 25, 2012, for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Benson was arrested in Gillette, Wyoming. He received 34 months of imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $250.00 fine and a $100.00 special assessment. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Curtis DeLavergne, 25, of Iowa, was sentenced by Chief Federal District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal on August 7, 2012, for being a felon in possession of a firearm. DeLavergne was arrested in Gillette, Wyoming. He received 42 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and a $200.00 fine. This case was investigated by the Gillette Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
