Administrative Decisions Regarding Credit Counseling Agencies
The United States Trustee Program's duties include approving nonprofit budget and credit counseling agencies (credit counseling agencies) for inclusion on a publicly available list of approved credit counseling agencies. If a United States Trustee decides not to approve or to remove a credit counseling agency from the approved list, that credit counseling agency may obtain administrative review of the decision from the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees. See 28 C.F.R. § 58.15 – 58.17 [PDF - 137 KB]; 11 U.S.C. § 111. Copies of the Executive Office's administrative decisions are publicly available below pursuant to 5 U.S.C. § 552(a)(2) (2018), although certain information has been redacted in the interest of personal privacy in accordance with 5 U.S.C. § 552(b)(6) (2018).
