DIANA G. ADAMS APPOINTED UNITED STATES TRUSTEE
FOR NEW YORK, CONNECTICUT, VERMONT
WASHINGTON, D.C.–Diana Goldberg Adams has been appointed United States Trustee for
Region 2 (New York, Connecticut, and Vermont), Clifford J. White III, Director of the Executive Office
for United States Trustees, announced today.
“I am extremely pleased to welcome Diana Adams as United States Trustee for Region 2,” Mr.
White stated. “Her proven management skills, as well as her record of achievement in overseeing cases
that range from individual consumer cases to major Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings, will serve the U.S.
Trustee Program well.”
“I am honored to be appointed United States Trustee, and to continue working with the Executive
Office for U.S. Trustees and the talented and dedicated staff in the region’s eight offices,” Ms. Adams
stated. “I look forward to proceeding with our efforts to carry out bankruptcy reform by increasing
management accountability in corporate reorganization cases and ensuring the integrity of consumer
cases.”
Ms. Adams was appointed as the Acting U.S. Trustee for Region 2 on April 7, 2006. She served
as an Assistant U.S. Trustee in the U.S. Trustee Program’s Manhattan office from 1996 to 2001, and as
the Assistant U.S. Trustee in the Program’s Brooklyn office from 2001 until her appointment as Acting
U.S. Trustee. Previously, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Cecilia H. Goetz, Bankruptcy Judge
for the Eastern District of New York, and worked in the private practice of law. Ms. Adams received her
law degree from New York University School of Law and her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Boston University.
The U.S. Trustee Program is the component of the Justice Department that protects the integrity
of the bankruptcy system by overseeing case administration and litigating to enforce the bankruptcy laws.
The Program has 21 regions and 95 field offices. Region 2 is headquartered in Manhattan with additional
offices in Albany, Brooklyn, Buffalo, Central Islip, Rochester, and Utica, N.Y., and New Haven, Conn.
