WASHINGTON, D.C. - Effective Jan. 19, 2001, Kevyn D. Orr resigned from his position as Director of the Executive Office for United States Trustees (EOUST). Orr was named Director in March 2000, when the previous EOUST Director, Joseph "Jerry" Patchan, retired. Before rising to the position of Director, Orr had served as Deputy Director since June 1995.
Martha Davis will serve as Acting Director of the EOUST until a Director is appointed by the Attorney General. Davis was named Acting Deputy Director in June 2000. Prior to that appointment, she had served since 1990 as EOUST's General Counsel, responsible for providing legal advice and litigation support to the Director and the United States Trustees.
The EOUST is the Washington, D.C., office of the United States Trustee Program, a Justice Department component that supervises the administration of bankruptcy cases nationwide.
