One-count information was filed in U.S. District
Court in Greensboro, North Carolina, charging Land-O-Sun Dairies,
Inc., a Delaware corporation headquartered in Johnson City, Tennessee,
with rigging bids, in violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act,
submitted to certain school boards in North Carolina for the award
and performance of contracts to supply dairy products to public
schools in various school districts in the state, beginning at
least as early as 1985 and continuing at least through August
1989.

U.S. v. Southern Belle Dairy Co.
Criminal No.: 92-36 (E.D. Ky.)
One-count information was filed in U.S. District
Court in Lexington, Kentucky, charging Southern Belle Dairy Co.
of Somerset, Kentucky, with rigging bids, in violation of Section
1 of the Sherman Act, for the award and performance of contracts
to supply milk to county and independent school systems within
south central Kentucky, beginning at least as early as the late
1970s and continuing thereafter at least through July 1989.

Department of Justice Issues Business Review
Letter
In a letter from J. Mark Gidley, Acting Assistant
Attorney General in charge of the Antitrust Division, to counsel
for Advanced Reactor Corporation (ARC), the Department advised
ARC that it does not intend to challenge the proposed ARC joint
venture to support research and development of standardized designs
for certain advanced light water nuclear reactors. ARC is a District
of Columbia not-for-profit membership corporation consisting of
16 U.S. electric utilities, the Electric Power Research Institute
and the U.S. Department of Energy.
