In 1997 there were 115 methamphetamine-related deaths and 419 total drug deaths.
In 1998 there were 84 methamphetamine-related deaths and 338 total drug deaths.

36 percent of heroin seized was Mexican Black Tar, 26 percent of heroin seized was Mexican Brown Powder, 15 percent of heroin seized was South American, and 23 percent of heroin seized was unknown.
