The New England HIDTA consists of the following counties: Fairfield, Hartford, and New Haven in Connecticut; Cumberland in Maine; Essex, Hampden, Middlesex, Plymouth, Suffolk, and Worcester in Massachusetts; Hillsborough in New Hampshire; Providence in Rhode Island; and Chittenden in Vermont.

Boston, Massachusetts, and New York, New York, are major cities with populations over 500,000.

Worcester and Springfield, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; Yonkers, New York; and Newark, New Jersey, are major cities with populations between 150,000 and 499,999.

Augusta and Portland, Maine; Concord and Manchester, New Hampshire; Burlington, Hartford, and Montpelier, Vermont; Fall River, Lawrence and Lowell, Massachusetts; Hartford, Waterbury, New Haven, Bridgeport, and Stamford, Connecticut; and Syracuse, New York, are major cities with populations less than 150,000.

Portland (Maine), Logan (Massachusetts), and Bradley (Connecticut) are international airports.

Portland (Maine), Boston (Massachusetts), and Bridgeport (Connecticut) are major seaports.

The interstates are I-80, I-81, I-84, I-87, I-88, I-89, I-90, I-91, I-93, and I-95.
