ATTORNEY GENERAL TO VISIT WATKINS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
                     TO COMMEMORATE EARTH DAY

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Attorney General Janet Reno will join
students of Watkins Elementary School, 12th and E Streets, S.E.,
on Tuesday, April 16, at 10:00am, to celebrate Earth Day.

The Attorney General will be joined by Lois Schiffer, the
Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Justice Department's
Environment and Natural Resources Division and some of the
Division's employees. Together, they will meet with the students
as they work on various environmental projects including making
"eco-pots" and planting spring flowers. In addition the Attorney
General will read the book City Green to the students.

The event is sponsored in part by GROW (Garden Resources of
Washington), a non-profit community gardening program that has
been working with Watkins Elementary School for over a year to
develop an environmental learning garden at the school.

The event is open to the press.
