NOT FOR RELEASE -- FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AG MONDAY, APRIL 15, 1996 (202) 514-2008 TDD (202) 514-1888 ATTORNEY GENERAL TO VISIT WATKINS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO COMMEMORATE EARTH DAY WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Attorney General Janet Reno will join students of Watkins Elementary School, 12th and E Streets, S.E., on Tuesday, April 16, at 10:00am, to celebrate Earth Day. The Attorney General will be joined by Lois Schiffer, the Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Justice Department's Environment and Natural Resources Division and some of the Division's employees. Together, they will meet with the students as they work on various environmental projects including making "eco-pots" and planting spring flowers. In addition the Attorney General will read the book City Green to the students. The event is sponsored in part by GROW (Garden Resources of Washington), a non-profit community gardening program that has been working with Watkins Elementary School for over a year to develop an environmental learning garden at the school.
