               NOTICE TO EDITORS AND CORRESPONDENTS



     The Justice Department's weekly news availability at 9:30
a.m. on Thursday, January 4, will be conducted by Deputy Attorney
General Jamie Gorelick.   

     It will take place in the Deputy Attorney General's
conference room, 4111 Main Justice, 10th St. and Constitution
Ave., N.W.

     All federally-credentialed news reporters are welcome. 
Those planning to attend should enter the building using the
Constitution Avenue entrance between 9th and 10th.  

     Broadcast pool coverage and individual audio tape recorders
are permitted.  However, because of shutdown, a feed to the
Andretta Room on the first floor is not anticipated.
