    U.S. ATTORNEY TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE TO ANNOUNCE RECORD
           SETTLEMENT IN A HOUSING DISCRIMINATION CASE


     SPOKANE, WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Attorney in Spokane will
hold a press conference Wednesday morning to announce the largest
settlement in a housing discrimination case filed by the Justice
Department in the State of Washington.
     James P. Connelly, U.S. Attorney in Spokane, and a
representative of a local fair housing group, will discuss
actions they have taken to fight housing discrimination against
families with children.
