         JUSTICE DEPARTMENT AND ATLANTA OLYMPIC OFFICIALS
TO HOLD NEWS CONFERENCE ON THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT


     WASHINGTON, D.C. --  Deval L. Patrick, Assistant Attorney
General for Civil Rights, and Billy Payne, President and CEO of the
Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, will conduct a press
conference on Wednesday at the Centennial Olympic Stadium in
Atlanta to make a significant announcement regarding the Americans
with Disabilities Act.

                    TIME:  2:00 PM
                    SITE:  Centennial Olympic Stadium
     

* Press should report to the media entrance on the southwest corner
of the stadium.  No special parking arrangements will be provided.
