    ATTORNEY GENERAL JANET RENO TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE TODAY
 TO ANNOUNCE THE DISMANTLING OF AN INTERNATIONAL HEROIN DRUG RING

     WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Officials from the Department of Justice
and the Treasury Department will hold a press conference today at
11:00 AM to detail an enforcement action to reduce the flow of
heroin into the United States.

     Attorney General Janet Reno, Undersecretary for Law
Enforcement at the Treasury Department Raymond Kelly, U.S. Customs
Commissioner George Weise, DEA Administrator Thomas Constantine,
U.S. Attorney James Burns of Chicago and U.S. Attorney Donald Stern
of Boston, among others, will provide information on an
international law enforcement operation that dismantled a heroin
drug smuggling and distribution ring.
