      ATTORNEY GENERAL JANET RENO TO PRESENT NEW BOY SCOUT 
                   CRIME PREVENTION MERIT BADGE

      Scouts from New York, Utah, Kentucky and Ohio Honored


     WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Attorney General Janet Reno will present
four boy scouts with the first Boy Scout Crime Prevention Merit
Badges on Tuesday, October 15, 1996.

     The Crime Prevention Merit Badge is the first new badge to be
introduced in five years, and is part of the Boy Scouts of
America's crime prevention program.  Scouts receiving the merit
badge will be:  Noumin Ghanem, New York City; Dustin Thomas, Provo,
Utah; Joshua Walker, Lexington, Kentucky; Zachary Roberts, Morain,
Ohio.
