       ATTORNEY GENERAL JANET RENO TO TRAVEL TO LOS ANGELES
              FOR POLICE MEETING AND ROHYPNOL EVENT

     WASHINGTON, D.C. --  Attorney General Janet Reno will travel
to Los Angeles, California, on Monday, August 11, 1997.  She will
speak at two events which are both open to the press.  

     At 11:15 a.m., Reno will join local officials to help launch
a national campaign designed to educate college students about the
dangerous effects of "rape drugs" such as Rohypnol and GHB.
