     ATTORNEY GENERAL JANET RENO TO VISIT WEED AND SEED SITE
                     IN INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA

     WASHINGTON, D.C. --  Attorney General Janet Reno will be in
Indianapolis, Indiana, on Monday, February 3, 1997.  While there,
she will tour a Weed and Seed site in the city in addition to
visiting the Christamore House, a neighborhood community center
and Weed and Seed safehaven.

     Operation Weed and Seed is a multi-agency strategy that
"weeds out" violent crime, gang activity, drug use and drug
trafficking in targeted neighborhoods and then "seeds" the target
area by restoring these neighborhoods through social and economic
revitalization.
