 ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS TO MEET WITH CHURCH LEADERS TO DISCUSS
   SUCCESSFUL EFFORTS TO RESPOND TO THE NATION'S CHURCH ARSONS

     WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Vice President Gore and other Clinton
Administration officials will meet today with a group of
ministers from burned churches to discuss the Administration's
successful efforts to respond to the nation's church arsons.

     In addition to the Vice President, Attorney General Janet
Reno, Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, HUD Secretary Andrew
Cuomo, and FEMA Director James Lee Witt will detail efforts to
prosecute arsonists, rebuild burned houses of worship and prevent
future arsons.  The ministers were brought to Washington by the
National Council of Churches.

     Following the meeting, which is scheduled to end at 12:45
PM, Administration officials and a representative from the
National Council of Churches will be available to answer
reporters' questions.
