                ADVISORY TO EDITORS AND REPORTERS

     At noon today, the Public Affairs Office will make available
a summary of the investigation by the Justice Department's Office
of Professional Responsibility into the conduct of FBI General
Counsel Howard M. Shapiro.

     Although the document is too long to send by facsimile, copies
can be obtained from this office.  Note that the Public Affairs
Office will close early today for the holidays.
