Reno to travel to Mississippi; Lee to travel to Michigan WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Attorney General Janet Reno will travel to Jackson, Mississippi, and Bill Lann Lee, Acting Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, will travel to Detroit, Michigan, to participate Monday in events honoring the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Reno to Travel to Jackson, Mississippi
While in Jackson, Reno will participate in a town hall meeting with community and civil rights leaders and volunteer at a local Habitat for Humanity site. Frank Hunger, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division will join Reno in Jackson.

Bill Lann Lee to Travel to Detroit, Michigan
Acting Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Bill Lann Lee will deliver an address on hate crimes, at a program honoring Dr. King in Detroit. The program, hosted by Focus:Hope, a Detroit civil and human rights organization, and co-sponsored by the Federal Bar Association and the Wolverine Bar, will include Mayor Dennis W. Archer, judges and other community leaders. While in Detroit, Mr. Lee will also meet with civil rights leaders from around the region.
This is the first time Mr. Lee is visiting Michigan since being chosen by President Clinton to head the Civil Rights Division in December.
