STATEMENT OF THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT AND THE SECRET SERVICE



	The Secret Service and the Justice Department are disappointed by the D.C. Circuit's
decision.  We continue to be concerned that any action that could distance the Secret Service from
the President increases the danger to his life and that of future presidents.  We are reviewing
whether to appeal, and hope to have a decision soon.
