Attorney General Janet Reno to Head

Administration Delegation Attending

Jonesboro, Arkansas Memorial Service



WASHINGTON, DC--At the request of President Clinton, Attorney General Janet Reno will head the Administration's official delegation attending the community memorial service for the victims of last week's shootings in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

In addition to the Attorney General the delegation will include: Secretary of Education Richard Riley; James Lee Witt, Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency; Counselor to the President Thomas F. McLarty; Congressman Marion Berry and Director of National Cemetery Services, Department of Veterans Affairs, Jerry Bowen, who is a native of Jonesboro.

The memorial service will take place on Tuesday March 31, 1998, at 7:00 PM at the Arkansas State University Convocation Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Attorney General Reno will speak on behalf of the Administration. President and Mrs. Clinton, who are traveling in Africa, will send a videotaped message to the people of Jonesboro which will be played during the service.
