DOJ, EPA OFFICIALS TO HOLD BRIEFING

ON MAJOR ENVIRONMENTAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Lois J. Schiffer, Assistant Attorney General for Environment and Natural Resources, and Sylvia Lowrance, Deputy Assistant EPA Administrator for Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, will hold a briefing this afternoon on the Mississippi River Initiative. Attorney General Janet Reno and EPA Administrator Carol Browner will be making an announcement tomorrow in St. Louis on this year-long environmental enforcement effort. Today's briefing is embargoed until tomorrow's event in St. Louis begins.
