ROYAL CARRIBEAN SENTENCING TODAY

There will be a sentencing hearing in the criminal prosecution of United States v. Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. in Miami, Florida, before the U.S. District Court Judge Donald Middlebrooks. RCCL pled guilty to pending indictments in Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 3 and 4, 1998. Under the terms of the plea agreement, the government and RCCL recommended that RCCL be sentenced to a $9 million criminal fine. This and other recommendations in the plea agreement are subject to court approval at sentencing. Sentencing in San Juan is scheduled for October 25, 1998.
