RENO, HOLDER TO PARTICIPATE IN NATIONWIDE NEWS CONFERENCE

JUSTICE TO PARTNER WITH AARP, HHS

TO EDUCATE MEDICARE BENEFICIARIES


WASHINGTON, D.C. - Attorney General Janet Reno and Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder will participate in a news conference on Wednesday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. ET to announce an education campaign for beneficiaries of Medicare to help them assist in the fight against fraud and abuse.

The news conference will take place in Washington with four interactive studio sites located in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and Miami. The news conference will be watched by thousands of beneficiaries nationwide.

Reno will participate in the news conference at the AARP Brickfield Center, 601 E. Street NW (use 6th Street Entrance). Holder will participate from the studio site in Atlanta at Georgia Public Broadcasting, 260 14th Street, NW.

Other participants at the news conference include: HHS Secretary Donna Shalala; AARP President Joe Perkins; FBI Assistant Director Lewis D. Schiliro; HCFA Administrator Nancy-Ann DeParle; Assistant Secretary on Aging Jeanette Takumura; and HHS Inspector General June Gibbs Brown.
