ATTORNEY GENERAL RENO TO VISIT SUMMER DAY CAMP FOR YOUTH IN HOUSTON'S GULFTON NEIGHBORHOOD

CAMPO DEL SOL EXEMPLIFIES DOJ'S "WEED AND SEED" PROGRAM

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Attorney General Janet Reno will visit Campo del Sol, a Weed and Seed program summer day camp located in southwest Houston, on Monday, August 2, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. The Attorney General will tour the camp and talk with campers about Campo del Sol and the role the camp has played in reducing crime and providing support services to youth in the area.

The Department of Justice Weed and Seed program increases law enforcement and provides support services in order to fight crime and promote community restoration. Programs include after-school, weekend and summer youth activities and neighborhood revitalization efforts.
