ATTORNEY GENERAL ASHCROFT COMMENTS ON MINDY TUCKER'S
DEPARTURE FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Mindy Tucker, Director of Public Affairs for the Justice Department, will be leaving to take a position at the Republican National Committee. Her last day will be Friday, January 5, 2002.

Attorney General John Ashcroft commented on her departure:

"Mindy has been a valuable member of the Department of Justice and a trusted friend. Her success can be attributed to her commitment to integrity and pursuit of the truth. She is principled and dedicated, and she will be missed. Over the past year, she's handled adversity with grace, humor and candor. She deserves combat pay, but all I can offer is my gratitude for her service to our nation. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors."
