ATTORNEY GENERAL ASHCROFT WELCOMES WHITE HOUSE NOMINEE FOR
ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR THE OFFICE OF POLICY DEVELOPMENT
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Attorney General John Ashcroft today welcomed President George W. Bush's announcement of his intention to nominate Viet Dinh to be Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Policy Development.
"Viet Dinh's experience and knowledge of the issues will be of crucial importance to the Office of Policy Development," Ashcroft said. "I look forward to working with him and seeking his help to achieve our goals for the Department of Justice."
Dinh is currently a professor at Georgetown University Law School, where he is Deputy Director of the Asian Law and Policy Studies Program. Previously, he served as Special Counsel to Senator Pete Domenici.
A graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Law School, he served as a Law Clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and U.S. Appellate Judge Laurence Silberman.
