APPROXIMATELY 300 VICTIMS TO ATTEND

CLOSED CIRCUIT TRANSMISSION OF MCVEIGH EXECUTION

Approximately 300 victims have indicated their intent to attend the closed circuit transmission of the McVeigh execution in Oklahoma City on May 16. Following the Attorney General's April 12 announcement that victims would be permitted to view a closed circuit transmission in Oklahoma City, victims wishing to participate were asked to confirm their intentions to the U.S. Attorney's office in Oklahoma City by May 1.

Those who have responded will soon receive further information from the Bureau of Prisons about where to report on May 16 and the viewing process. The closed circuit transmission will be held at the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City.

In addition to the 10 persons selected to witness the execution, approximately 10 individuals have confirmed their intention to travel to Terre Haute on May 16 to be present in the city where the execution is taking place. A reserved area has been established at the Terre Haute facility to accommodate those victims.
