WASHINGTON, D.C. – Attorney General John Ashcroft and entertainer Ed McMahon will participate in a news conference to kickoff the Administration's efforts to double the number of Neighborhood Watch programs around the country and to unveil a new Neighborhood Watch Public Service Announcement to encourage citizens to volunteer as a part of President Bush's new Citizen Corps initiative, TOMORROW, Wednesday, March 6, at 11:00 a.m.

IN A GRASSROOTS NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM
WASHINGTON, D.C. – In the evening, Attorney General John Ashcroft will join local Neighborhood Watch groups in Sterling, Virginia to encourage this local community and communities across the county to start or revitalize their Neighborhood Watch programs. As a part of President Bush's newly organized Citizen Corps, which promotes a nation-wide grassroots effort of citizen volunteers, Attorney General Ashcroft is asking Americans to help double the number of Neighborhood Watch programs serving the country over the next two years.
