ATTORNEY GENERAL TO HOLD NEWS CONFERENCE
IN NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Attorney General John Ashcroft will hold a news conference Thursday, November 7, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. regarding the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS) in Niagara Falls, New York.

Congress has required the Justice Department to develop an entry-exit system in order to provide greater protection for the U.S. and help aliens fulfill their responsibilities under the law. The NSEERS program is the first step toward the development of a comprehensive entry-exit system applicable to virtually all foreign visitors.
