MEDIA REGISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR THE
G8 MINISTERIAL PRESS CONFERENCE AND OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPH

REMINDER: ALL MEDIA MUST PRE-REGISTER BY NOON TODAY BY FILLING OUT AND FAXING THE ATTACHED FORM TO (202) 514-4276. ONLY THE OFFICIAL G8 PRESS CREDENTIALS WILL BE ACCEPTED - NOTE: THOSE MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA HOLDING CREDENTIALS FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, DOJ, DHS, STATE, ETC MUST ALSO PRE-REGISTER.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Media registration for the G8 Ministerial Press Conference is being coordinated through the Department of Justice, Office of Public Affairs. The press conference will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 3:45 P.M. at the Decatur House in Washington, D.C. Members of the media, both foreign and domestic, wishing to cover the press conference will be required to pre-register in order to obtain access to the event - this includes photographers and any additional support staff. Official G8 press credentials will ONLY BE PROVIDED TO THOSE IN THE MEDIA WHO PRE-REGISTER IN ADVANCE of the G8 Ministerial Press Conference.

Members of the media will be required to fax copies of TWO FORMS OF A PICTURE ID (including media credentials and government issued ID) with the attached form completed to 202-514-4276 by Noon EDT on Thursday, May 6, 2004. You will be notified by e-mail once your media registration has been accepted and a G8 press credential has been generated in your name. On Tuesday, May 11, media must arrive to retrieve G8 press credentials and pre-set be 2:30 P.M. due to increased security measures.

Official Photograph: On Tuesday, May 11, the Department of Justice will release an official photograph of the G8 Ministers. Press registering for the press conference will automatically receive this photo at the e-mail provided in their registration. Other requests for this photo can be submitted by e-mailing heather.cutchens@usdoj.gov.
