              NOTICE TO EDITORS AND CORRESPONDENTS 



      Attorney General Janet Reno will have a significant
announcement in a well-known environmental case at her regular
Thursday morning news availability on Thursday, December 21
at 9:30 a.m. in the Attorney General's conference room, room
5111, Main Justice, 10th St. & Constitution Ave., N.W.

      The Attorney General will be joined by Carol Browner,
Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. 

      All federally-credentialed news reporters are welcome. 
Those planning to attend should enter the building by 9:15 a.m.
using the Constitution Ave. entrance.  Broadcast pool coverage
will be permitted.  However, because of shutdown, a feed to the
Andretta Room on the first floor is not anticipated.

      There will be no news availability on Thursday, December
28, because of the Christmas holiday.
