NOTE: As part of our effort to keep you informed, we are initiating
distribution of schedule information for Joseph Brann, Director of
the Justice Department's Office of Community Oriented Policing
Services ("COPS"). 

     Schedule for Joseph Brann, Justice Department "Top Cop" 
                  The Week of February 20, 1995

     The California Office of Criminal Justice Planning is hosting
the following meetings and has invited law enforcement officials
from across the state to discuss their experiences with community
policing and federal grants.  After each meeting, Brann will tour
community policing facilities in each jurisdiction. 

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21 - Sacramento
  *  Participate in COPS meeting, McClellan Air Force Base, Theater
          Complex on Watt Avenue from 10 am to 2 pm 
  *  Tour of Sacramento County Sheriffs Community Center 7511 Watt         Avenue, Suite 105, North Highlands, CA, from 2 pm to 4 pm

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22 - Norwalk, CA
  *  Participate in COPS meeting, Sheraton Hotel, 13111 Sycamore           Drive, from 10 am to 2 pm
  *  Site visit (details TBA) from 2 pm to 4 pm
                    
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23 - San Diego
  *  Participate in COPS meeting, Doubletree Hotel, 910 Broadway           Circle from 10 am to 2 pm
  *  Site visit (details TBA) from 2 pm to 4 pm


The COPS Office has primary responsibility for fulfilling President
Clinton's promise to put 100,000 new community police officers on
America's streets.
