               NOTICE TO EDITORS AND CORRESPONDENTS


     The Justice Department has filed a brief in the U.S. Supreme
Court seeking a writ of certiori in the case of U.S. Department
of Commerce, etal v. City of New York, et al, asserting that the
Constitution does not require the Secretary of Commerce to
undertake a statistical adjustment of the 1990 census.
