JUSTICE DEPARTMENT AND FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION ANNOUNCE STEPS TO
  STREAMLINE THE HART-SCOTT-RODINO ACT PREMERGER REVIEW PROCESS

     WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Department of Justice and the
Federal Trade Commission will hold a news conference to unveil
steps to streamline the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act premerger review
process.  Assistant Attorney General Anne K. Bingaman in charge
of the Antitrust Division will present the Department's views and
Chairman Janet Steiger will speak for the FTC.
