        ATTORNEY GENERAL JANET RENO SCHEDULED TO SPEAK AT
             CRIME STOPPERS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

     WASHINGTON, D.C. --  Attorney General Janet Reno is
scheduled to address the Crime Stoppers International Conference
on Saturday, September 30 at 11:45 a.m. at the Cavalier Hotel
Beach Club, 42nd Street and Atlantic, Virginia Beach, Virginia. 
Reno will focus on the importance of community based efforts,
including citizen/police partnerships, to fight crime.
     The conference has been in session since Tuesday, offering
more than a dozen educational sessions to more than 550 civilian
and police "Crimestoppers" from around the world, including the
United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
     Virginia Beach Crime Solvers assists with the investigation
of criminal activity.  Crime Solvers is a non-profit organization
that raises funds to provide cash rewards for information which
leads to solving crimes.  Crime Stoppers International has
assisted in nearly 100,000 convictions and helped recover 
$4 billion in narcotics and property.
