PLANO MAN INDICTED ON TAX CHARGES
The indictment charges that Jones, in preparing the false returns, falsely and fraudulently included deductions for cash contributions, non-cash contributions, Form 4797 losses, Schedule E Rental Losses, Schedule C Car and Truck expenses, Form 4684 Casualty Losses, Education Tax Credits, Schedule C Expenses, and Employee Business Expenses, knowing that these claimed deductions were false. An indictment is an accusation by a federal grand jury and a defendant is entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. However, if convicted on all charges, Freddie Lee Jones faces a statutory maximum 60-year term of imprisonment and a $5 million fine. United States Attorney Boyle commended the investigative work of the Internal Revenue Service - Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), Dallas Field Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lynn Hastings. # # # |
