PLYMOUTH MAN CHARGED WITH FILING FALSE TAX RETURN
Boston, MA... A Plymouth man has been charged with filing a false tax return.
United States Attorney Michael J. Sullivan and Joseph Galasso, Special Agent in Charge of the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigations in New England announced today that TIMOTHY P. SCHROEDER, 55, of Plymouth, Massachusetts has been indicted by a grand jury of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He is charged with filing a false tax return for calendar year 1997.
The Indictment alleges that the income figures that SCHROEDER reported on his tax return for that year substantially understated his actual income. If convicted, SCHROEDER faces a term of imprisonment of up to 3 years, a maximum $250,000 fine, 1 year supervised release and a $100 special assessment. The investigation is ongoing.
The case was investigated by the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigations and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul G. Levenson of Sullivans Public Corruption Unit.
