North Liberty Man Sentenced on Federal Child Pornography Charges
DAVENPORT, IA- On March 16, 2012, Edwin Hadley Donnan, 45, of North Liberty, Iowa, was sentenced to 130 months of imprisonment for one count of receiving and distributing child pornography, announced United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered Donnan to serve a term of supervised release of 8 years following his incarceration, and to pay an assessment of $100 to Crime Victims Fund.
Law enforcement authorities received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) indicating that a certain internet protocol (IP) address was associated with uploading child pornography to the “G Boys” social network. It was subsequently established that this IP address was associated with an internet account belonging to Donnan. Based on this information, a search warrant was obtained and executed at the Donnan residence on December 17, 2009. Several of the items seized contained child pornography. During his guilty plea, Donnan admitted that on May 24, 2009, he uploaded 6 child pornography images to the “G Boys” social network. He also admitted that he searched for and downloaded child pornography, and that he distributed child pornography to others directly and by posting to a website.
This investigation was conducted by the Marion and North Liberty, Iowa, Police Departments, and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Iowa.
