Manufacturing Methamphetamine Near Swisher Nets A Twenty Year Sentence In Federal Prison
DAVENPORT, IA - On January 6, 2012, Andrew Francis Falco, age 42, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was sentenced in federal court in Davenport, Iowa, to 240 months imprisonment for manufacturing methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also imposed a term of 10 years of supervised release following imprisonment, and ordered restitution in the amount of $6,087.69 to cover the costs of cleaning up the site on a farm near Swisher where manufacturing had occurred.
On February 16, 2011, a one-count Indictment was returned against Falco charging him, and four others, with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, beginning in January of 2007, and continuing to on or about April 5, 2010. On August 30, 2011, Falco entered a guilty plea to the single-count indictment. Due to a prior felony drug conviction from January of 2001, Falco faced a mandatory minimum sentence of twenty years.
This case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force in Cedar Rapids, and the Johnson County Drug Task Force, and was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
