FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN FORT WAYNE RETURNS INDICTMENTS

Fort Wayne, INCThe United States Attorney's Office announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Fort Wayne, Indiana, returned the following Indictments on September 26, 2012:
Justas Laugalis, 25, is charged in a single count Indictment with misuse of a social security number on or about May 19, 2012. This charge was filed as the result of an investigation by the Indiana State Police and the Fort Wayne Police Department members of the Federal Identity Theft Task Force. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lovita Morris King.
Derrick Tennant, 35, of Defiance, Ohio, is charged in a seven count Indictment with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute marijuana from on or about March
29, 2009, through on or about May 27, 2009, and use of a communication device to facilitate distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine on or about April 11, 2009, April 17,
2009, April 25, 2009, May 3, 2009, May 13, 2009, and May 15, 2009. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Police Department, Indiana State Police, Internal Revenue Service, United States Marshal’s Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration and the IMAGE Drug Task Force. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony W. Geller.
The United States Attorney's Office emphasized that an Indictment is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
If convicted in court, any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
