
TWO MEN PLEAD GUILTY TO ECSTACY DISTRIBUTION
CHRISTOPHER KRUMHOLT, 28, a resident of Port Vincent, Louisiana, and JARED FOLKS, 29, a resident of Metairie, pled guilty yesterday in federal court before U. S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon to charges involving the distribution of MDMA (Ecstacy), announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
Specifically, KRUMHOLT and FOLKS each pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute a quantity of MDMA. FOLKS additionally pled guilty to one count of distribution of MDMA.
According to the factual basis, the defendants admitted that beginning prior to June 24, 2009 and continuing until about July 8, 2009, they conspired with each other to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute quantities of MDMA. FOLKS also admitted that he distributed a quantity of MDMA on July 8, 2009.
The defendants face a possible maximum sentence of twenty (20) years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine and three (3) years of supervised release as to each count. Sentencing has been scheduled for July 8, 2010.
The investigation is being conducted by Special Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre’ Jones.
