
ALIEN SENTENCED FOR ILLEGAL RE-ENTRYAND FALSE REPRESENTATION OF A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER
ANA DELIA MORENO-SANTOS, age 42, a citizen of Honduras, was sentenced today in federal court by U. S. District Judge Carl J. Barbier to approximately four (4) months imprisonment, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to court documents, on March 27, 2012, MORENO pled guilty to two counts of an indictment admitting that in September 2011, she falsely represented that a Social Security number had been assigned to her by the Commissioner of Social Security with intent to deceive, for the purpose of obtaining employment. MORENO also admitted to being an alien who had previously been removed from the United States, who was found in the Eastern District of Louisiana on or about February 2, 2012, without having obtained consent from the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to reapply for admission to the United States.
This case was investigated by U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations. The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Robert Weir.
