SUNRISE BEACH WOMAN SENTENCED
FOR DISTRIBUTING METH
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Sunrise Beach, Mo., woman was sentenced in federal court today for distributing methamphetamine in Camden County, Mo.
Rhonda Sue Ammerman, 41, of Sunrise Beach, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nanette K. Laughrey this morning to seven years and three months in federal prison without parole.
On Nov. 30, 2009, Ammerman pleaded guilty to being in possession of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, and to distributing methamphetamine. Ammerman sold methamphetamine to an undercover law enforcement officer at her residence on March 23, 2009. While executing a search warrant at Ammerman’s residence later that day, officers seized additional amounts of methamphetamine.
This case was prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren Kummerer. It was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, MUSTANG (the Mid-Missouri Unified Strike Team And Narcotics Group), the Camden County, Mo., Sheriff’s Department and the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group.
