TWO MORE MOTORCYCLE CLUB MEMBERS SENTENCED

FOR METH CONSPIRACY

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced today that two motorcycle club members were sentenced in federal court today for their roles in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Michael Fitzwater, also known as “Holms,” 61, of Harrisonville, Mo., and Donald Culey, also known as “Kooly,” 42, of Kansas City, Kan., were each sentenced by U.S. District Judge Fernando J. Gaitan to five years in federal prison without parole.

Both Fitzwater and Culey pleaded guilty to their roles in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine between Jan. 1, 2002, and May 31, 2007.

Fitzwater and Culey were members of the Galloping Goose Motorcycle Club. They admitted that members of Galloping Goose and the affiliated El Forastero Motorcyle Club were required to annually pay dues and attend a certain number of motorcycle trips, known as runs, each year. On each run, the members were required to pay money that was pooled, or collected by each club charter, then forwarded to the specific Galloping Goose or El Forastero charter that hosted the particular motorcycle run in order to purchase methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. Those drugs were maintained in run bags, which were distributed to all club members who attended the run.

Seven additional co-defendants, who were members of the El Forastero or Galloping Goose motorcycle clubs, also have pleaded guilty and been sentenced for their roles in the drug-trafficking conspiracy. William Eneff, also known as “Muff,” 59, of Lee’s Summit, was sentenced on Dec. 21, 2009, to seven years in federal prison without parole. Robert R. Peters, 52, of Kansas City, Kan., was sentenced on Oct. 8, 2009, to eight years in federal prison without parole. Robert L. Mays, also known as “Goose Rob,” 53, was sentenced on Oct. 8, 2009, to five years in federal prison without parole. Gary Mickiewicz, also known as “New Yorker,” 59, of Blue Springs, Mo., was sentenced on July 16, 2009, to five years in federal prison without parole. Donald Street, also known as “Donnie,” 37, of Edwardsville, Kan., was sentenced on July 16, 2009, to five years of probation. Michael Hensley, also known as “Joe Poke,” 44, was sentenced to time served. Steven M. Street, also known as “Goose Steve,” 42, was sentenced on Aug. 10, 2009, to time served.

Co-defendant Timothy R. Davis, 50, of Kansas City, Mo., pleaded guilty to his role in the conspiracy and awaits sentencing.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jeff Valenti and Daniel M. Nelson. It was investigated by the Independence, Mo., Police Department.
