CALLAWAY COUNTY MAN SENTENCED FOR METH
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced today that an Auxvasse, Mo., man has been sentenced in federal court for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
Rodney Lynn Moore, 46, of Auxvasse, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nanette K. Laughrey on Friday, June 11, 2010, to 10 years and one month in federal prison without parole.
On Jan. 14, 2010, Moore pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in Callaway County, Mo. Moore admitted that he had agreed to sell methamphetamine to a source who was cooperating with a law enforcement investigation. Moore provided the methamphetamine to the cooperating source on Feb. 24, 2009; later that day, a search warrant was executed at Moore’s residence. Law enforcement officers recovered user quantities of methamphetamine from Moore, as well as approximately seven ounces of methamphetamine underneath a bed in the master bedroom. The methamphetamine seized from the residence weighed 218 grams.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren Kummerer. It was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the East Central Drug Task Force, MUSTANG (Mid-Missouri Unified Strike Team And Narcotics Groups), and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
