April 9, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an Indictment* against Jamal Solomon charging him with committing two bank robberies at gunpoint.. He specifically is charged with one count of conspiracy, two counts of armed bank robbery, and two counts of carrying and aiding and abetting the carrying of a firearm during a violent crime, all arising out of his commission of robberies on October 31, 2006 of the Sovereign Bank, 65 York Road, Willow Grove, Pennsylvania of approximately $11,426 and on December 18, 2006 of the National Penn Bank, 333 E. Lancaster Avenue, Wynnewood, Pennsylvania of approximately $88,494. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), the Upper Moreland Township Police Department and the Lower Merion Township Police Department. If convicted, defendant faces a mandatory minimum of 32 years imprisonment.
