
April 10, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an Indictment* against CHUM SON charging the defendant with 3 counts of making and subscribing a false tax return in violation of Title 26 U.S.C. § 7206(1); and 12 counts of failing to collect, account for and pay over employment taxes, in violation of Title 26 U.S.C. § 7202.
From 2000 through 2003 the defendant CHUM SON was the owner and President of a labor-leasing company called Golden Star Temps Service, North Marshall Street, Philadelphia. The indictment alleges the defendant failed to report approximately $2,716,953 in gross business receipts from Golden Star on his individual income tax returns, owing $233,663 in additional taxes; and further, failed to pay over employment taxes for his workers in the approximate amount of $589,204.29.
