
February 1, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan announced the filing of a four-count indictment* charging Gerrell Butler and Lacretia Bailey with conspiracy, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371, manufacture of counterfeit money, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 471, and two counts of passing and possessing counterfeit money, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 472.
This case was investigated by the United States Secret Service. Upon conviction, Butler faces a maximum statutory sentence of 65 years and a $1,000,000 fine, and Bailey faces a maximum statutory sentence of 25 years and a $500,000 fine.
