February 15, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the indictment* returned by the grand jury charging LEONEL ANDRES BAEZ ESPINAL of Trenton, New Jersey, with making a false statement in an application of United States passport. The indictment charges that on January 25, 2007, ESPINAL gave a false name and claimed to be a United States citizen in an application for a United States passport, when in fact he was a citizen of the Dominican republic.

The case was investigated by the United States Secret Service and the Philadelphia Police Department, and has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Albert S. Glenn.
