February 9, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an indictment* against Sterlin Jenkins charging him with conspiracy to commit armed bank robbery, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371; bank robbery and aiding and abetting in the commission of a bank robbery, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 2113 (a), (d), and 2; and using, and aiding and abetting the use of , a firearm during the commission of a violent felony, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 924 (c). These offenses arise from Jenkins’ participation in the February 12, 2002 armed robbery at Citizens Bank, 15 S. 52nd Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania involving Jenkins, Jonathan Williams, Sheree White, “R.S.,” and an unknown subject. The robbery resulted in a loss of $291,508.

If convicted on all charges the defendant faces a maximum potential sentence of life imprisonment, a $750,000 fine; a $300 special assessment; and three years of supervised release. In addition, in connection with the firearms offense, the defendant faces an additional 7 years imprisonment, consecutive to any sentence imposed in connection with any other offense.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Joel D. Goldstein.
